Ivan Avance, Jr.

Ivan Avance, Jr., age 60, of Poyen passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home. He was born June 8, 1951, in Little Rock, the son of Ivan and Ruth Laverne (Merritt) Avance. Ivan worked in maintenance for the City of North Little Rock. He was a member of the Poyen Missionary Baptist Church and was proud to serve in the United States Marine Corp in the Vietnam War. Ivan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vickie Avance; and son, Ivan Avance III (Trey). Left to cherish his memory are son, Josh Avance of Poyen; sisters, Diane Wright and husband Freddy of Poyen and Nancy Jackson of Hot Springs. Ivan had several nieces, nephews and great nephews. Graveside services will be Friday, April 13th at 1:30 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery in North Little Rock, with Brother Don Goodman and Brother Kevin Spurlin officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lance Mateer, Mark Mateer, Chris Bean, Kim Copeland and Bobby Daniels. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
