Johnnie Warren (Studdard III) Bates

Johnnie Warren (Studdard III) Bates, 40, formerly of North Little Rock, passed away Aug. 14, 2012. He was born July 25, 1972, to Johnnie Studdard and Isabelle Sue (Studdard) Barbour. A graduate of Northeast High School, John joined the Navy and was proud of his military career in communications, which included service in the Gulf War. John loved exploring the world and was an avid scuba diver. He was a beautiful and compassionate man with a big heart, always trying to find a way to help people. He wanted every child to have a laptop so they could explore the world. His pride and joy was his daughter, Autumn, and he loved to take her shopping. In Colorado, John worked for the US Forest Service. John is survived by his parents; his beloved wife, Adon and daughter Lauren Kim; daughter, Autumn; his sister, Shannon Hollomon; his step-father, Duane Barbour, and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Roy and Patty Sidebottom, and his adopted father, David Bates, all of North Little Rock. Graveside services will be at 1:15 p.m., Aug. 20, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Native American projects that benefit children.
