Reeda McDonald Thrasher, 75, of Kensett, passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012. She was born June 23, 1937 in Higginson, Ark. to the late Evett and Myrtle Curtis McDonald. Mrs. Thrasher was a member of the House of Prayer in Kensett; retired from Ford Motor Company; was a member of the Woodman of the World where she served as secretary and treasure of Lodge 68, served as youth leader and was awarded the 2011 Fraternalism of the Year. She and her husband helped to build 18 Habitat Houses. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters precede her in death. Survivors include husband, Gene Thrasher of Kensett; two daughters, Sheila Horton (James) of Higginson; Patricia Kimmel (James) of Laporte, Ind.; three grandchildren, Angel Gurley, Timothy Bell, Todd Bell; step-granddaughter, Jammie Kimmel; eight great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two sisters, Beatrice Moore of Beebe, Ila Williams of Kensett; two brothers, Tom McDonald (Margaret) of Bald Knob, Max McDonlad (Sammie) of Kensett; other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.
