Ellena Kathryn Tucker-Dodson, age 85, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away August 20th, 2012. She was born February 13th, 1927 to the late Barney F. Tucker, III and Lourania Reed-Tucker, near Urbana, Mo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Fisher, grandaughter, Tracy Fisher, three brothers, Reverend W.E. Tucker, Edward Tucker and Albert Tucker, and one sister, Edith Seaton. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ernest Dodson, two sons, Stanley Fisher and Keith Dodson Sr., one daughter –in-law, Linda Fisher, wife of Stanley, three grandchildren, Phillip Fisher, Keith Dodson Jr., and Nathalie Dodson, two great-grandchildren, Elisha and Hannah Fisher., one sister Reva Farnham, and several nephews, nieces, friends and church family. Kathryn, as she preferred to be called, left home at an early age and moved to Kansas City, Kansas to work in a defense plant during World War II. After the war, she worked as a power machine operator and later as a salesperson. Ultimately, she became the epitome of the stay at home mom and raised her children and children's children. She took great joy in being a Christian woman, and was a faithful member of First Gospel Church in Little Rock, Ark., as long as her heath permitted. She helped wherever she was needed in the church, with the cleaning, office, nursery or her favorite, serving in the kitchen. One of her greatest joys was to keep visiting saints from other churches during local meetings. Outside of church, Kathryn enjoyed helping her husband in the garden, canning fruits and vegetables, decorating cakes for her family and cooking alongside her husband. Her very favorite hobbies were sewing and painting. Her greatest love was her husband and family. She will always be remembered as a woman who loved and cared for her family and church.
