Charles W. Hollis

Charles W. Hollis, 74, of Fountain Hill, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. Hollis was a native of Portland; a resident of Fountain Hill for many years and a former resident of Pine Bluff. He graduated from Fountain Hill High School in 1956. He work for International Paper in Pine Bluff for 15 years and in 1973 he moved back to Fountain Hill and went to work for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation and worked 27 years having retired in 2000. He served on the Board of Directors of Mainline Health System and was instrumental in getting and building the Mainline Health Clinic in Fountain Hill. He was a member of the Eden Baptist Church. He raised cattle and loved spending time outside. He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Hollis and two brothers, Pete Hollis and Lon Earl Hollis. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cynthia Ann Watson Hollis of Fountain Hill; three daughters, Cindy Adams and husband, Ronnie, of Crossett; Karen Dixon and husband, Ricky, of Texas and Nancy Hollis of Fountain Hill; his mother, Synthia Mae Foster Hollis of Fountain Hill; a sister, Ruth Riels and husband, Glynn, of Fountain Hill; 9 grandchildren, Christy Thomas, Matthew Adams, R.J. Dixon, Hollis Dixon, Mason Dixon, John William Dixon, Kevin Stewart Jr., Kolby Stewart and Cason Stewart and 4 great-grandchildren, T.J., Collin, Caitlyn and Madison. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Pugh Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Eden Baptist Church, 3748 HWY 133 North, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to the donor's choice.
