Joy Ann Brown

Joy Ann "Meme" Brown, 77, of Mayflower, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Born in Hill Creek, Arkansas on March 10, 1935, she was a daughter to the late Earnest and Clydia McKuin Trafford. Mrs. Brown was a secretary for Mayflower High School, for over 20 years, where she touched and influenced many lives. She served as a School Board member from 1973 to 1978. She was a member of Mayflower First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible school and was a member of the W.M.U. and the Prayer Shawl Ministries. She was active in the Mayflower Community Children's Christmas Choir. Mrs. Brown served the Mayflower Community as the Democratic Township Committee Chairman for 25 years. Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Brown and her sister-in-law Charline Trafford. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jacky Brown; sons: Terry Brown and wife Theresa, Jeffery Brown and Tracy Brown and wife Dana, all of Mayflower; brothers, John Trafford and wife Evelyn of Plummerville and Winfred Trafford of Pine Bluff; grandchildren: Chad Brown and wife Brandi, Brandon Brown and wife Amanda, Toby Brown, Sr. A Dustin Brown, Tanner Brown, Jordan Brown, Dakota Brown, Reagan Mannis, Kerstyn Mannis, Leah Mahnken, and Jaclyn Brown; five great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Services under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home, of Conway, will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 16, at Mayflower First Baptist Church, with Rev. David Fox and Rev. Toby Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mayflower Cemetery with Chad Brown, Brandon Brown, Johnny Trafford, Gary Trafford, Justin Charton and Win Trafford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Sr. A Dustin Brown, Tanner Brown, Dakota Brown,Toby Brown, Steve Herron, Mitch Meux, Jeff Adams, Jason Lawrence, Joel Linn, and Gerry Turner. Visitation will be held from 6: to 8 p/m/, on Friday, June 15th, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Mayflower First Baptist Church.
