Clydene Scharlau

Clydene Scharlau, age 81, of Fayetteville died Sunday June 24, 2012 in Fayetteville. She was born January 4, 1931 in Portland, Oregon to Clyde and Helen Redding Sloop. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, was active with the Fayetteville swim team. She demonstrated her lifelong love of animals by supporting animal welfare causes. She is survived by her husband, Charles Scharlau; three daughters, Caryn Scharlau of Fayetteville, Ark.; Robin Muse of Lithia, Fla.; Marti Scharlau of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sons, Greg Scharlau of Springdale, Ark.; Charles Scharlau of Cary, N.C.; two sisters, Pat Harlan of St. Louis, Mo.; Susan Winfield of Ft. Collins, Colo.; one brother, David Sloop of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren, Brandon Allen, McKenna Scharlau, Alex Scharlau, Zoe Moore, Emil Mayev and Macey Wood. A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m., Friday June 29, 2012 at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
