Hazel Brooks Huelshorst Hinkle, age 96, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday June, 20, 2012 in Fayetteville. She was born August 8, 1915 in Fayetteville, Ark. the daughter of Frank Brooks Sr. and Effie Elkins Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Jacob Huelshorst and Lester Hinkle; three sisters, Leona Bowman, Alice Ludwick and Peggy Hoskins and one brother, Clint E. Brooks. Hazel and Henry were married June 8, 1935 in Fayetteville and spent their entire married life there. They enjoyed many years of traveling with the Razorbacks with Henry's job as equipment manager for the U of A Athletic Dept. He died September 27, 1981. She married Lester Hinkle in May 2004 and they loved the Senior Bowling League at Ozark Lanes. He died in August 2010. She was a lifelong Methodist and joined Wiggins United Methodist Church after marrying Lester. Hazel and her daughters greatly appreciated the loving care and support of Katherine's Place on Wedington where she resided from August 2010 until her death. She helped lead the fellow residents to root for the Razorbacks. She is survived by two daughters, Leota Marie Johnson and husband Ken of Tulsa, Okla. and Ruth Ann Trice and husband Terry of Stuttgart, AR; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother Frank Brooks Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark., and one sister, Sarah Etta Jones and husband Clifford of Broken Arrow, Okla. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30 with funeral service following at 11 a.m., at Moore's Chapel and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
