Clinton Ward Burks

Family and friends mourn the unexpected passing of Clinton Ward Burks, 40, dedicated husband, aspiring writer, loved son and fiercely loyal friend. Clint passed away at his home on Thursday, March 15th 2012, due to medical complications from a series of unfortunate accidents. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Clint grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended Hall High School, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Fayetteville. In 1993, he fell in love with his wife, Romi, and moved to Chicago to be with her. Clint lived his life in unparallel support of his wife and his two fuzzy Bichon children, Twinkie and Cupcake. He loved them all immensely. While his wife pursued her education and searched for a permanent job as a professor, Clint supported the family by working at Radio Shack for 14 years beginning as a Sales Associate and rising through all the ranks, including as a Manager of his own store in Mishawaka, Indiana. He garnered numerous accolades for his customer service and technical expertise. Ever willing to sacrifice for his wife's career, he moved five times before they settled in Georgetown in 2003. Clint read voraciously, devouring a myriad of mysteries and science fiction. He frequently read two to three books a week. An addition passion of Clint's included working with computers - even before computer use really skyrocketed. He was always available to solve anyone's computer problems. Clint also enjoyed his role as household chef, frequently tweaking recipes he discovered watching FoodTV. Clint leaves behind his wife of nearly 15 years, Romi Lynn Burks, his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth C. Little and Gene Little, father and step-mother, Larry and Betty Jean Burks, his sister and brother-in-law, Stacey and Eric Briggs, niece, Janet Elizabeth Briggs, in-laws, Vicki Comisso and Darrel Snively and brother-in-law, Joe Comisso. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Vivan Burks and his wife Edie as well as his paternal grandmother, Mildred Burks. Clint was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Janet and Roy Clinton, Sr. of Hot Springs, Arkansas. A small, intimate memorial service will take place in mid-April at Pinnacle Mountain, Arkansas. Friends and family may be present for the spreading of Clint's ashes at this site where he and his beloved wife had their first real date and fell in love.
