Margaret Luellen Westerfield Floyd, 72, passed away in Cheneyville, La., at 8 a.m. on April 28, 2012, after a 4-year battle with cancer. She was born August 10, 1939, in Thornburg, Ark. Her interests were never limited; from an early age, books were her answer to boredom and she developed a diverse knowledge. Likewise, she instilled in her children a sense of creativity, ambition and curiosity. She was a devoted partner to her husband, sharing interests in many things including the flora and fauna in the states in which they resided. Margaret was outspoken politically; she did not shy away from discussing issues of importance. She will be missed for her intelligence, her wry sense of humor, her determination, the encouragement she gave others, and her love. Margaret was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Santarone and her father Maurice E. Westerfield. She is survived by her husband Martin Floyd (Louisiana); stepfather Dominic Santarone (Arkansas); brother Robert Westerfield (Arkansas); sisters Kathleen Cameron (Florida) and Juanita Granger (Arkansas); daughters Juliet Moore (Colorado) and Amy Peck (Arkansas); son Morgan Floyd (Utah); and her grandchildren Ryan Moore (Colorado) and Carleigh Moore (Colorado).
