James Eugene Thompson

James Eugene Thompson 69, born in Tyronza, Ark., April 10, 1943 passed from this life to join in Heaven those who preceded him in death, his parents, Roland and Thelma Thompson. He worked for Ben Hogan Construction Company for 29 years, before he retired due to health issues. He enjoyed his life especially hunting and fishing and was a friend to everyone who knew him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 49 years, Bettye; son, Michael and his wife Heidi, their children, Joseph, Linley and Benjamin; daughter, Tracy Shepard and children, Elizabeth and Kassie; son, David Thompson and children, Sam Kocke and wife, Amanda, Micale Kocke and Grant Thompson; one great-granddaughter, four brothers, Roy Lee, Perry, Robert, Freddie Thompson; seven sisters, Joyce Kennedy, Janie Deaton, Mary May, Becky Lawson, JoAnn Ott, Susan Kennedy, Kathy Lee and their spouses; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 10415 Mt. Pleasant Cut-Off, Cabot, Ark. 72023 with Reverend Dennis Wilson officiating.
