Ann Wood Buchanan

Ann Wood Buchanan of Redfield, Arkansas was born July 23, 1955 in Camden, Arkansas the daughter of Maxine House Wood Poe and the late David Dale Wood. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, a member of the Sheridan High School Class of 1973 and was a devoted teacher for many years. She was a member of the Humane Society of Pulaski County of which she was an avid supporter. Ann had many passions in her life. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister and friend serving as a wonderful example for all of them. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, animals and traveling. Ann died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the age of 57 at her home surrounded by her family. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mack and Bertha House of Sheridan. Survivors: Loving Husband and Caregiver, Ernie Buchanan of Redfield; son, Jesse Thomason and Melissa of Laredo, Texas; mother, Maxine Poe of Sheridan; brother, David Dale Wood, II and wife Kay of Grapevine; sisters, Nancy Wood and husband, Bob Messer of Eureka Springs; Rita Wood Jolly of Redfield; three grandchildren, James, Derrek and Kayden, and one niece, three nephews, classmates and friends and also her constant companions, Rosie, Lucky and Radar. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hematology/Oncology Associates and Chemotherapy and Arkansas Hospice for the love and care given to Ann and her family.
