Lyndal Brunson

Lyndal Brunson, 87, of Star City, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2 at his home. Lyndal was born on May 3, 1925 in Centerville in Yell County to the late Marion Arthur and Lucy England Clifton Brunson. Lyndal served in the US Marine Corps, 4th Marine Division during World War II with combat on Iwo Jima, Saipan and Tinian. His unit earned three Presidential Citations. He was in the American Legion and he retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department. Lyndal was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ila Pearl Robertson Brunson of Star City; daughter, Debara Brunson of Little Rock; sons, Gaylon Brunson of Little Rock, Dechard Brunson of Monroe, La.; grandsons, Shawn Brunson, Jacob Brunson, Matthew Brunson; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in Star City. Bro. J.C. Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Home Cemetery.
