Glen Virgil Winkle of Little Rock, born in Gage County, Nebraska, January 23, 1924 passed away on September 27, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Glen was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict serving in both the Navy and the Army. He was a retired electrician and an all around handyman who could fix anything around the house. He could also cook all the fish he and his friends caught in Lake Conway where he lived for many years. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick W. and Ella Rose Coonley Winkle; first wife (our mother), Myrtle John Nichols Winkle; second wife, Lenore Jo Behnke Winkle; brother, Gale Winkle and sister, Velma Slot. He is survived by three daughters, Saundra (Dickie) Vosburg; Patricia Lynn (Larry) Smee; Glenna Kay "Bug" (Keith) Fisher; four grandchildren, Toni Cobb; Shelly Smith; Cory Holt; Taylor Smee and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Cobb; Piper Smith and Noah Smith. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 at Mayflower Cemetery with Jeff McIlroy officiating.
