Wanda May Cozort Slaton 83, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born on April 12, 1930 in Salem, Arkansas to Oscar Cozort and Audie Bolen Cozort. She was survived by her four sons, David Slaton (Lou)of Dallas, Texas, Dale Slaton (Gerre) of Edmond, Okla., Don Slaton (Cathy) of Hot Springs, AR, and Doug Slaton of Wilson, Ark., daughter, Donna Vincent (Allen) of Benton, Ark.; 10 grandsons, Sam Slaton (Sarah) of Dallas, Texas, Chris Slaton (Jenny) of Hot Springs, Ark., John Slaton (Amy) of Amarillo, Texas, Jim Slaton (Jaclyn) of Jasper, Texas, Ben Slaton, of Harrison, Ark., Ray Slaton of Hot Springs, Ark., Wes Slaton of Harrison, Ark., Art Slaton of Hot Springs, Ark., Jake and Luke Vincent of Benton, Ark.; and 10 great-grandchildren. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Wanda sang in the choir at Wilson First Baptist Church for many years where she also taught Sunday school to the youth. She was a volunteer at National Park Medical Center and volunteered with ESL classes. Her hobbies included playing cards-Canasta and Skip-bo, gardening, and watching her grandsons play ball. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at First Baptist Church from 1-2 p.m. with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Rev. John McCallum will be officiating. Burial will be Friday at 12 noon at Roller Swift Cemetery in Osceola, Ark. with visitation ay First Baptist Church in Wilson, Ark. following. Pallbearers will be Sam Slaton, Chris Slaton, John Slaton, Jim Slaton, Ben Slaton, Ray Slaton, Wes Slaton, Art Slaton, and Luke Vincent. Honorary pallbearer will be Jake Vincent.
