Virginia Farrish McMahan

Virginia Farrish McMahan, age 93, of Crossett, Ark. passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. She was born Aug. 21, 1920 in Watson, Ark. to her late parents, James Augusta and Lula Mae Farrish. Mrs. McMahan was retired from North Crossett Utility Co. serving from 1971 until 1983; served on the Ashley County Medical Center hospital auxiliary. After her retirement she worked at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett for many years serving families as a night hostess. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Howard McMahan; four siblings, Jeanette Tarver, Franklin (Pete) Farrish; Marie Alexander; Jessie (Pogh) Farrish. Survivors include three sons, Samuel James (Kaye) McMahan, Frank W. (Mary) McMahan; Gary L. (Sharon) McMahan, all of Crossett; two daughters, Ruth (Jerry) Morgan of Albany, Ga., Pat (Leonard) Burke of Monticello, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Staley and Bro. Mike Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
