George N. Phillips

George N. Phillips, age 79, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. He was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Centerville, Iowa. George was a retired carpenter and a Lutheran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Velma Porter Phillips, wife, Marion Phillips. Survivors, son, Scott Philips, Benton; daughter, Sherry Moore, Bella Vista, Ark.; brother, Robert Phillips, New Point, Calif.; sisters, Marietta Permann, Wis.; Imogene (Ruth) Welch, Wash.; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren. Memorial graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Pine Crest Cemetery by Ashby Funeral Home.
