Mary Murphy Long, 88, passed away June 16 at her Camden home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Cullendale First Baptist Church. Mrs. Long was born June 25, 1924 to Henry Andrew and Addie Mae Murphy of Norphlet. She was preceeed in death by her parents; brother, Arville Jones; sister, Helen Ruth Harbour; granddaughter, Michelle Norwood; and sons-in-law, Steve Lester and Jim Pickett. Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth "Doc" Long; daughters, Mary Norwood asnd Eva Maria Pickett; grandchildren, Lindsey and Jason Wilson and Lacey and Todd Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Peyton Kenneth and Skylar Laney Schroeder and Tristan Lee Wilson, all of Camden; and sisters Louise Mckinney of El Dorado and Jean Mcguire of Dallas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Cullendale First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. Wade Totty and Dr. Jimmy Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cullendale First Baptist Church, the Jim Pickett Memorial Scholarship (Ouachita Valley Community Foundation, 308 Washington, Camden, Ark.), or Ouachita County Hospice (638 California, Camden, Ark.) Pallbearers are Paul Long, Scott Carter, Joffree Long, Jackie Ross, Bob Waker, and Sherman Brooks. The family will be at the home of Eva Pickett on Osage.
