Robert M. (Bob) Pritchett, age 90, breathed the first breath of his life on July 31, 1922 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and passed from this life on June 20, 2013 in Harrison, Arkansas. Bob was born the second child of Benjamin Robert and Lois Edith (Griffin) Pritchett. As fate would have it, Bob would be the only son in a family with four sisters, Helen Anne, Jewel Faye, Bennie Jane and Betty Jo. As an only son and brother Bob learned early on to help and serve his family. At age 17 he left home to join the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country throughout World War II on board the Battleship USS Washington, a job he loved and told stories of his entire life. After the war Bob returned home and began a career serving his hometown as a fireman with the Little Rock Fire Department. In between fighting fires Bob sparked a flame of his own with a young lady named Imogene Vaught and on July 8, 1950, they were married. Before starting a family Bob was called upon again to serve his country in the Korean War. Once back at home Bob and Imogene started their family and raised four children, Ben Robert, David Patrick, Alan Murry and Cindy Jean. Bob always put his family first and served their every need while continuing to serve his community as a fireman for more than 35 years. Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father; three sisters, Helen, Faye and Bennie; son David and grandson James Pritchett. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Imogene Pritchett; sons Ben Pritchett and wife Mee Lee of Benton, Arkansas and Alan Pritchett and wife Jeri of Harrison, Arkansas; daughter Cindy Cheek and husband John of Benton, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Michael Pritchett, Megan Neumann, Laura Keeter, Lindsey Pritchett, Katie Pritchett, Kimberly Cheek and Jenny Cheek; two great grandchildren, Beckett Keeter and Thomas Pritchett; and his sister Betty Gorman of Niceville, Florida. Bob Pritchett served his country, served his community and served his wife and family for over 90 years. Bob was a Christian and strong believer in God's word, a member of Plainview Baptist Church, a Mason and past Master of Adoniram Lodge #288 at Mabelvale, Arkansas. On June 20, 2013, Bob was called to serve once more as he left this life to be with and serve our Lord Jesus Christ, a job for which he is well prepared. Graveside services will be conducted by Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800 on June 24, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, Arkansas.
