Ada Maxine Pfeifer

Ada Maxine Pfeifer, 84, of Searcy, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was born on Thursday, October 25, 1928 in Santa Paula, California to the late Hubert and Isophine McCalister Mitchell. Maxine attended ACU where she obtained teaching certificates for both elementary and high school. While at ACU she married L.V. Pfeifer on June 1, 1950. In 1953 Maxine and L.V. began mission work in Italy where over an almost three year period they aided in beginning churches in Florence and Bologna. Health issues forced them to return to the U.S. Later in San Lorenzo, California she helped start a Christian elementary school. After moving to the Dallas area she taught in the Dallas Christian School in both the elementary and the high school. When L.V. was hired to teach at Harding, she became an adjunct teacher for Harding in folk art and calligraphy. She was a wonderful partner with L.V. as they helped build churches in Italy, Texas, California and Arkansas. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 63 years, L.V. Pfeifer; son, Derek Pfeifer and wife Trish of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; daughter, Sherry Lowe and husband Rick of Searcy; brother, Carl Mitchell and wife Frankie of Searcy; grandchildren, Jeremy Lowe and wife Leah of Conway, Brandon Lowe and wife Jennifer of Searcy, Bret Pfeifer and wife Heather of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kendall Bowles and husband Alex of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Sophia Lowe, Claire Pfeifer and Eva Pfeifer; nieces and nephews, Mick Mitchell and wife Jill of Simi Valley, California, Cary Mitchell and wife Sharon of Thousand Oaks, California, Michelle Glover and husband Mike of Kaufman, Texas; and eight great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home (501) 268-3546. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 in the Westside Church of Christ with Mr. Randy Rankin, Mr. Derek Pfeifer and Mr. Carl Mitchell officiating.
