Clarence Moton

CLARENCE MOTON, 74, son of Emmett Moton and Eliza Hatchett Grant, born March 7, 1939, in North Little Rock, Ark., passed Sept. 26, 2013. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Eliza Grant; father, Emmett Moton; brother, Emmett Moton Jr.; grandson, Clarence E. Moton Jr.; and sister, Lavern Moton. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Alison and Cordelia West. Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Vivian Smith Moton; two sons, Clarence E. Moton Sr. and Carlton R. Moton; two daughters, Cheryl Grant and Alicia Austin; three brothers, Joseph (Byrd Ethel) Moton, John (Christine) Grant, and C.W. (Ruby) McFarlen; sisters, Essie (Herman) Lasker, Lillie (Cecil) Williams, Vanessa (Ralph) Ervin; sister-in-law, Brenda Moton, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
