Thomas Elisha Osmon

Thomas Osmon, was born December 26, 1919 in Rio Vista near Worden and died January 29, 2014 at age 94, at home with family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Ruth Norton Osmon; mother, Mary Shidler Mann Osmon; father, Charles Jesse Osmon; half sister, Mabel Mann, and nephew Vanice M. Jr. Osmon. Survivors include daughters, Mary Bilan and Betty Bluh; brother, Vanice M. Osmon; grandchildren, Sean Bluh, Stacey Grice, Peter Bilan, and Michael Bilan; great-grandchildren, Kyle Harris, Ethan Grice, Madeline Bilan, Ava Bilan, Carson Bilan, and Reiley Bilan and many cousins and friends. Thomas was a farmer and pipe liner, a hunter, trapper and fisherman. He was a veteran of WWII, served in the Navy and was in the battle at Okinawa. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bald Knob where funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob.
