Ola Faye (Cottingham) Lavender

OLA FAYE (COTTINGHAM) LAVENDER, 77, of Little Rock, Ark. went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2014. She was born Jan. 26, 1937 in Prescott, Ark. Ola Faye was a devoted wife and mother. She loved life and enjoyed pulling pranks on her children and grandchildren. She is loved and will be missed by us all. She provided childcare in her home for years and touched the lives of many children. She showed them love and held a special spot in her heart for each of them. Our home was always filled with love. She was a member of Bingham Road Baptist Church and before that Archview Baptist Church. She was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, John Douglas Lavender of Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, James Douglas Lavender (Gayle) of Little Rock, Ark. and John Paul Lavender (Lori) of Scott, Ark.; two daughters, Barbara Gail Lavender Moore (Ferrell) and Betty Jo Lavender Matthews (Jeff) both of Little Rock, Ark.; four granddaughters, Jamie Lavender; Lindsey Lavender, Emily Bemis (Jeremy) and Leah Lavender; three grandsons, Nicholas Lavender (Ashley), Drew Lavender (Lauren) and Hunter Matthews; and one great-grandson, Kaden Sweat; five sisters, Virginia Jerry, Helen Jo Huskey and Marilyn Evans of El Dorado, Ark., Floy Richardson of Little Rock, Ark., and Sandra Still of North Little Rock, Ark.; and countless numbers of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gracie Odell (Cromwell) Cottingham of Prescott, Ark.; brothers, Jackie Gene Cottingham and Billy Ray Cottingham of Prescott, Ark. and Benny Floyd Cottingham of Texarkana, Ark.; sister, Emma Sue Cottingham of Prescott, Ark.; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209 (501) 455-5800 with Bro. Ben Jones, Central Baptist Church, Mineral Springs, Ark. and Bro. Roger Brown, Bingham Road Baptist Church, Little Rock, Ark. officiating. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
