JOHN MCKENZIE MCCULLOUGH, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born Sept. 1, 1943 to the late Martha and Murray McCullough, in Little Rock at the old Trinity Hospital. John grew-up in Sylvan Hills, and attended Sylvan Hills Elementary where his first grade teacher was Gertrude Price. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved sister, Apple. John was born into the family of seven children, Nancy, Bruce, Kent, Andy and Charlotte; also survived by several favorite nieces and nephews; and by his dogs, Pal and Sammy. He loved being outdoors and taking his dogs for long walks in the country. He often took the dogs with him when he was working. John had a successful small business supplying several barbeque restaurants with cured hickory wood. The business was well run, and his cured hickory was always in demand. His favorite morning activity was meeting friends at "Come and Get It" John will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400). Interment will follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
