Eddie "Sparky" Crook, 72 of Hot Springs, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014. Eddie was born Oct. 2, 1941 in Jacksonville to the late Ed "Buddy" and Evelyn (Lea) Crook. Eddie spent 27 years in law enforcement, three years for the Jacksonville Police Department and retired as Corporal from the Arkansas State Police. He was enjoying retirement living on the lake, cooking for friends at political and special events, and riding his Harley. He never met a stranger, and will be missed by many. Eddie was a loving husband to Martha (Harrell) Crook of Hot Springs; father to Steve Crook of Jacksonville and Becky Rogers of Hot Springs; brother to sister, Eddie Mae Carver of Alabama; grandfather to Shana McNerlin (Dustin) of Jacksonville, Tyler Crook of Jacksonville, and Kristen Williams of Hot Springs. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W. Main St., Jacksonville. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, officiated by Mark McDonald, with burial to follow at Bayou Meto Cemetery. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
