Kenneth Fred Peck, 71, of Leander, Texas, died July 30 in South Lake, Texas while playing golf for the first time at Timarron Championship Golf Course designed by Byron Nelson. He was born January 30, 1944, at Junction City, Kansas, to Fred Clarence Peck and Helen Novieta King Peck. He attended Holmes Elementary School and Grand Haven Jr./Sr. High School, then went to Michigan State University for a time. He lived the majority of his life in Spring Lake, Michigan, but also lived in California, Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee, and finally Texas. He retired from Trane HVAC as a sales engineer. He was involved in many sports growing up and later in life became an avid golfer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing with his dad and after many conversations with his mom decided to take a monthly cooking class. He became more interested in good health after his heart attack and quadruple by- pass in 2001. He enjoyed walking around his neighborhood for exercise and visiting with his neighbors who all speak well of him. He will be missed. He made a profession of faith as a youth at Spring Lake Baptist Church in Michigan and is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are a daughter, Heather Marrs and husband Randall of Millcreek, Washington; three grandchildren, Camille, Audry, and Hazel; and a sister, Kathy Bridges and husband Sam of Pea Ridge. Funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, August 14, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with visitation beginning at noon. Burial will be at Bentonville City Cemetery.
