Leonard W. Johnson

Leonard W. Johnson, 87, of Little Rock, departed this life on Thursday August 6, 2015. He is preceded in death by parents Will and Minnie Moore Johnson. He was raised in North Little Rock, and drafted into the US Army during the Korean conflict in 1952. He received corporal status, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, among other awards. Following service, Leonard served as a nurse technician, managed the concession stand at Quigley Stadium and served as Chief Judge for the Pulaski County Election Commission. Leonard was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He volunteered with many organizations, including Watershed, the Salvation Army and Healing Hope. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara P. Johnson, his son Donald Rae of California, daughters Judith of Little Rock and JoAnne (Edward) of Dallas and four grandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m., Thursday, St. Patrick Church, 1901 Maple, North Little Rock; Rosary: 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, St. Augusta, 2nd and Smothers Street, North Little Rock. Arrangements: Watson Northcrest, 1801 Maple, North Little Rock. 501-812-5303. Interment: Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
