Rick Wagoner

Rick Wagoner, 67, of Pine Bluff, went to his heavenly home on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family and friends. Rick was born May 27, 1948, in Dunklin County, Mo., to the late Louis Douglas Wagoner and Susie Tole Wagoner. He was born and raised in Malden, Mo. He moved to Arkansas in 1965, and in 1994 settled in Pine Bluff. He married Johnna Lynne Moore on October 29, 1974, in Lonoke. Rick worked for the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 32 years, moving his way up to Chief of Security (Major). He worked for many years at the Tucker Unit, moved to the Pine Bluff Unit, and retired from the Diagnostic Unit in 2004. Upon retiring, he joined the Arkansas Department of Correction Retiree Association and enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with other retirees at their quarterly meetings. He loved to hunt and fish, collect guns and knives, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a generous, warm-hearted, kind man and will be greatly missed by all. His survivors include his wife of 41 years, Johnna Wagoner; daughter, Leah Brooke (Todd) Tooke of Rye; one granddaughter, Kendall Layne Tooke; three brothers, Larry (Theressa) Wagoner and Billy (Gail) Wagoner, all of White Hall, and Jeff (Ann) Wagoner of England; two sisters, Donna Stout of White Hall and Nancy Akines of Sheridan. Also left to cherish his memory are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The family will be at Rick and Johnna's home in Pine Bluff. Graveside services will be Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, 2 p.m., at Enon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain John Hagan and Pastor Jarrod Pettit conducting the service.
