Russell Benton Ussery

RUSSELL B. USSERY of Little Rock passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015. He was the son of the late Aaron (Pete) Ussery and Uvil (Tackett) Ussery. He was born Thursday, Jan. 30, 1935 at Mount Vernon, Ark. Upon graduating from high school in 1953, he was employed by Continental Steel Corporation in Kokomo, Ind. He enlisted in the Army and served 2 years at Whitesands, N.M. as a pole linesman, and was discharged as a Specialist Third Class. In 1954 he attended Arkansas State Teachers College. He graduated in 1960 with a BS Degree in Business, and a minor in Economics. He worked for Braniff Airways in Little Rock, Ark., Texarkana, Kansas City, and Lubbock. In 1961 he was employed by American Airlines. After working for American 33 years in Little Rock, Memphis, and Tulsa he retired in 1994 as Supervisor for American in Little Rock, Ark. He spent his retirement years traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Louise Ussery; sister, Robbie Lee McKelvy; four children, Debbie Ussery of Laguna Beach, Calif., Robin Ussery of Chicago, Ill., Russ Ussery of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rachelle Ussery of Ellington, Conn. Three grandchildren, Ashley England, Rusty and Brandon Ussery, and son-in-law, Troy England. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park with Brother Leon Barns officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
