Freeda Mae Ward

Freeda Mae Staggs Ward, 95, died Sunday. She was born July 7, 1920 in Mulberry, Ark., a daughter of the late Dolph and Eunice Espy Glaze. Freeda was a homemaker and retired from General Industries in Bald Knob. She was a member the Welcome Wagon in Jacksonville and the McArthur Assembly of God. Survivors: Son, Kenneth Staggs; sisters, Betty Hager, Wanda Gordon, Yvonne Merrell, Margaret Camacha; brother, D.N. Glaze, Junior; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, James Elmer Staggs, and her second husband, Granville Ward; sisters, Imogene Ashworth, Tressie Shearer and Gertrude Glaze; brother, W.R. "Dub" Glaze. Visitation: Wednesday, December 23, 2015, beginning at 10 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
