Ed Eyring, 50, passed away on June 24, 2015. He is survived by his wife Margaret and their three dogs, parents; Robert and Martha Ann Eyring, sister, Judy Heitkamp and husband Glenn, brothers; Paul, John and his wife Lisa, Matt and his wife Kati and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Ed retired after serving 23 years in the U.S. Air Force mostly as a flight engineer. He was deployed in combat conditions several times and has been awarded many medals and awards to include: Meritorious Service with one oak leaf cluster (OLC), Air Medal with five OLCs, Aerial Achievement Medal with two OLCs, Air Force Commendation Medals with two OLCs, Combat Readiness Medal with three OLCs, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Ribbon and Korean Defense Service Medal. Ed was an avid mountain bicycle rider, was a motocross racer when he was younger and was definitely not a suit and tie guy. According to his nephew Joshua, Ed loved hot and spicy foods, his nieces Alyssa called him a lover of the outdoors and Kristin thought he was funny and caring—all true. His dad called him a walking encyclopedia and anyone that knew him, knew he could take anything apart and put it back together with no extra parts. He was a gadget fanatic especially anything to do with flashlights and vehicles--most people that met him probably receive a small flashlight, pen or some other trinket. He was also a coupon and deal enthusiast and he was always happy when he got a good lunch deal or a good deal off eBay. Ed has been known to tell a story or two and even repeated the story several times just in case you forgot it. Ed was a member of First Baptist Church and was active in the TV ministry. He would give you the shirt off his back, could always be counted on when called, had a positive influence on many people and will be sorely missed by all but especially by his dogs, wife and his family members. Visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015 with funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Cabot. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816. Donations can be made to the Arkansas Freedom Fund or Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in Ed's name. Please sign the online guestbook at www.moorescabotfuneralhome.com.
