Shirley S. Kees

The Bible tells us in Philippians 3:20 that the citizenship of the believer is in heaven. The family of Shirley Shows Kees would like to tell you that she moved to her permanent eternal residence in heaven on July 14, 2015. Shirley Shows Kees was born October 5, 1941 in Atlanta, Louisiana to Julius and Viola Shows. Shirley loved her family and spending time with grandchildren. She loved to cook, garden, and travel. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband and spending time with family and friends at Toledo Bend Lake. She was a member of Geyer Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Emerson Kees Jr. of 52 years; daughter, Tonya Jansson (Ville) of Cypress, Texas; son, Scott Kees (Kim) of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren, Gabriella Jansson-Stutz, Catherine Jansson, and Ryan Kees; brother Jimmy Shows of Magnolia, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Elaine Duncan. Visitation with the family will be held July 17, 6-8 pm, at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville, Louisiana. A Celebration of Life will be held July 18, 9 a.m., at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Dr. C. Stewart Holloway will be officiating.
