Dr. Oliver Wallace

Doctor Oliver Wallace (Doc), of Green Forest, Ark. passed away on Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 in Fayetteville, Ark. at the age of 83. He was born in Maldin, Mo. on November 15th, 1931 to Ona Oliver and O.C. Wallace, moving to Lepanto, Ark. an infant. Doc received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1956 from the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock, Ark. In 1957, he practiced in Mulberry, Ark. and moved his practice to Green Forest in1958. Doc was Board Certified by the National Academy of Family Practice and served a term as President of the Arkansas Academy. He was the last surviving member of the original medical staff at Carroll General Hospital and served as a board member. He was the medical director at Carroll County Nursing and Rehab in Berryville. Until his death, he volunteered at Echo Clinic in Eureka Springs. Doc was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Jones on July 13th, 1956. Doctor Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and one grandchild. He is survived by his wife Margaret; his daughters, Kathy and Miles Palmer and Djini Wallace; son, Chris and Connie Wallace; grandchildren, Mary Wallace, Oliver Palmer, Jacob Wallace, and Steven Palmer; and one great-grandson, Colton Wallace. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Green Forest United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Cook officiating.
