LaVerne M. Abston, 79, of Little Rock, departed this life on Monday. Survivors: her daughter, Gwen Sprouse; three sisters: Erma Cobb, Corrine Givens, and Lorene Hines; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren. Family hour: Friday, 6-7:30 p.m. McAlmont Church of Christ, 1824 E. 46th St., North Little Rock. Funeral: 12 noon Saturday at the Church.
