Dr. Terri Laverne Payne-Jeter, 48, was born on August 20, 1967, in Little Rock, Ark. She departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on Sept. 14, 2015. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Buck and Lillie Anthony, and paternal grandparents, Terry D. Sr. and Irene Payne, all of West Memphis, Ark. She excelled in her job as a clinical outpatient pharmacist at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, Calif. She is survived by her husband, Demetric Jeter of Beaumont; two stepchildren, JR and Samaria Jeter of Beaumont; mother and father, Iris L. Payne and Terry D. Payne Jr., both of Little Rock; a sister, Karen Y. Akins of Little Rock; two nieces, Kharisty Akins of Little Rock and Vivian Akins of Bryant; a nephew, Henry (Corisma) Akins III of Ruston, La.; two great-nephews, Kholbie Rufus of Killeen, Texas, and Henry Akins IV of Ruston, La.; two great-nieces, Emari Miles of Bryant and Aleiyah Akins of Ruston, La.; as well as a multitude of special cousins, uncles, aunts, loved ones, close friends and colleagues. Terri will be remembered for her quiet nature, sweet soul and kind spirit. Her integrity and character will endure forever in our hearts. She truly will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Visitation and viewing of the body will be Friday, September 25, from 11 a.m. until noon at St. Mark Baptist Church, 5722 West 12th Street of Little Rock, Ark. A celebration of her life will begin at 12 noon with the Rev. Frederick S. Anthony officiating. Burial will be at Elmlawn Cemetery in Little Rock, with repast afterwards at St. Mark Family Life Center. For those people wanting to make food donations/visit, the family will be gathering Friday evening in the club house at The Villas of Country Club Apts., located at 10701 RichSmith Lane in Maumelle.
