Freeda Mae Simpson

In Memory Freeda Mae Simpson, 90, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016. Born April 7, 1925 in Cato, Ark., she was the wife to the late Henry A. Simpson and the daughter of the late Horace Harrell and Ethel McPike Harrell. She attended Sylvan Hills High School and worked as a Bookkeeper associated with Cameron Feed Mills and Twin City Printing Company for over 50 years. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. The oldest of 12 children, she enjoyed square dancing and loved her family. She is survived by her son, Darwin H. Simpson (Bonnie) of Spartanburg; her grandchildren, J. Melissa Morehead (McCall) of Spartanburg and Bradley D. Simpson (Sarah) of Oakland, Calif.; her great-grandchildren: Page Morehead, McCall "Mac" Morehead of Spartanburg, and Clive Simpson of Oakland, Calif.; her brothers: Walker Harrell of Sardis, Ark., Leo Harrell (Jamie) of Sherwood, Ark., David Harrell (Shirley) of NLR, Ark., Bobby Harrell (Janet) of Sherwood, Ark.; her sisters, Eva Harrell and Martha Whiteley of Mena, Ark.; sisters-in-law: Ruth Harrell of Jacksonville, Ark., Janice Harrell of Mayflower, Ark., and Christa Harrell of Worms, Germany; as well as numerous nieces, nephews; great nieces, great nephews; great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Mrs. Simpson is preceded in death by her brothers: Joe Harrell, Austin Harrell (Wanda), Frankie Harrell, Charles Harrell; her sister, Katherine Harrison (Herman); her sister-in-law, Lillian Harrell and brother-in-law, David Whiteley. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, (501) 758-1170. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 8, 10 a.m. at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
