Mavis Juanita Garrett

Mavis Juanita Garrett, age 82, of Springdale, passed away Wed., April 13, 2016. She was born in Saline County, Ark. on May 11, 1933. Juanita was the youngest child of James and Missouri (Melton) Shell. She was a long time member of Lifeline Baptist Church in Little Rock and served for a time as it's Children's Director. She and her husband were active in Campers on Mission and Arkansas Disaster Relieve. In 2004, they moved to Springdale, Ark. to be closer to their grandchildren and great grandchildren. They became members of Elmdale Baptist Church finding new friends and fellowship. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Esmer and Melvin; husband, Nathan Garrett and daughter, Donna White. Juanita is survived by her grandchildren, Dawn Garrison and husband Jerry of Fayetteville, Ashley White and wife Robin Fike of Fayetteville and great-grandchildren Alexis White, Jackson White, Reagan Miller, Nathan Miller, Alex Duffy and Bladen Fike. Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Mon., April 18 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. On-line guest book at www.ashbyfuneralhome.com.
