William Eugene Nelson

William Eugene "Gene" Nelson, 70, of Alexander, joined his Heavenly Father on Fri., April 1, 2016, at John McClellan V.A. Hospital, Little Rock. He was born March 3, 1946 to Lewis A. Nelson and Winnie E. VanNess. He served in the U.S. Army and finished his career after 28 years with Central Arkansas Transit. He loved his fur babies, Socks and Ginger, mechanics and tinkering. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, Charles Pense. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Nelson; children, William Nelson Jr., Anne Barnett; sister, Louise Nelson; grandchildren Tearyn, Isabelle, Gavin Barnett; Abigail, Gabrielle Nelson. Memorials may be made to Gideon Memorial Bibles. Memorial service will be held at a future date at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Services entrusted to Arkansas Cremation.
