James Lenard Coleman, Sr.

Coach James L. Coleman, Sr., 83, of Marianna, Ark. died April 20, 2016 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. Coach Coleman worked in the Lee County School System for 42 years. He was a Football Coach at Anna Strong High School and Lee Sr. High School as well as the Assistant Principal at Strong Middle School. Coach Coleman received his Bachelor's degree from Arkansas AM&N College and received his Master's degree from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Katheryn Coleman of Marianna, Ark.; two sons, James L. Coleman, Jr. of Pottstown, Pa. and, Jon Eric Coleman of Little Rock, Ark. He also leaves a brother, Robert J. Major of Baton Rouge, La. and four grandchildren. On Friday, April 29 from 1-5 p.m. his body will lie in state at Paradise MBC (Clark & Hill Streets), in Marianna with a Memorial Service immediately following at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m at Lee Sr. High School Gymnasium.
