Funeral services for Jesse Harris Clifton, 81, farmer, of Wheatley, Arkansas will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 11th, 2016 at One Accord Baptist Church in Posey, Arkansas. Reverend Carl Baldwin will officiate. Interment will follow in Posey Cemetery in Posey, Arkansas; under the direction of Fowler Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.at the church prior to the service. Jesse was January 29th, 1935 in Posey, Arkansas; the son of Grady H. Clifton and Jessie Mae Butler Clifton. Jesse lived his entire life in the Wheatley and Posey area, and was cherished by the surrounding community. He was Baptist by faith and a devote member of One Accord Baptist Church, Posey, Arkansas. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He loved to work, and was a very passionate farmer. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willard Hicks Clifton, Grady Gene Clifton, and Bobby Lee Clifton; four sisters, Ethel Heep, Ester Heep, Darlene DePriest, and Billie Sue Devaiser. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Clifton; one son, Larry (Pam) Clifton of Posey, Arkansas; one daughter, Kathy (Gary) Duncan of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; one brother, John Lynn (Amanda) Clifton of Wheatley, Arkansas; one sister, Betty Wessell of Conway, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
