Joseph A. Westbury, of Hot Springs Village, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on August 5, 2016, after a year-long battle with lung cancer. Joe was born on June 22, 1930 to Joseph E. and Mollie McKenzie Westbury in Georgetown, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brothers, Harold and Charles. After serving 8 years in the US Air Force, Joe worked for Raytheon Company in Oxnard California for 34 years as a test engineer, missile specialist, and program manager. Shortly after retiring in 1992, Joe and his wife, Louise, moved to Hot Springs Village from Camarillo, California. Joe spent many years enjoying his favorite activities including gardening, swimming, photography, golf, bridge, genealogy, Bible Study Fellowship, watching old Westerns and war movies. The couple enjoyed traveling and loved being a member of Village Bible Church in Hot Springs Village. He will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Louise; three children: Mary Jane Pattullo, Pollyanna (John) Heer, and Joseph R. Westbury; 6 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at Village Bible Church, Saturday August 13, 2016 at 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
