Our mom, RUTH ELLEN FULLER, 93, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 2, 1923 in Seneca, Missour, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Daisy Russell. She was a waitress at Capwells and Edys Restaurants in Oakland, California, for 10 years where she met and married the love of her life, Verlon Fuller, on May 16, 1952. After the birth of their daughter, Susan in 1954, they moved to Little Rock and later to Sherwood in 1956, where they bought their home on Country Club Road and in 1958 their son, Mike was born. Mom was not only a homemaker, she was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children, always making sacrifices and putting family and others before herself. Mom was a caring and loving Grandma to her grandchildren and GeGe to great-grandchildren. She was a member of Somers Avenue Church of Christ in North Little Rock for 30 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Verlon Fuller; sisters Mary Wade, Hazel Norris and Pearl Atterbury; brothers Ernest and Everett Barnes. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Crowly (Jimmy) and son Mike Fuller (Wanda) all of Sherwood, Arkansas; grandchildren Jason Crowly (Rhonda) of Jacksonville, Stephanie Moreland (James) of Bigelow, Arkansas, and Michael Fuller II of Sherwood, Arkansas; great-grandchildren Taylor Crowly and Aaron Cole of Bigelow, Arkanasas; sister-in-law Dorothy Keener and Melvilene Casto of Atkins, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews and friends; and good friend Louise Dare. The family wishes to express thanks to the caregivers at Hospice Home Care-Little Rock and Baptist Health-North Little Rock who cared for our mom. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Park Hill Christian Church, 4400 JFK Boulevard, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
