Patrick Thomas Fleming

Patrick Thomas Fleming died August 7, 2016 at the age of 53. He was the first son of the late Dr. Ronald T. and Betty Lynn Thomas Fleming (DMin). He graduated from Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri. He held a degree in Radio Announcing from the Columbia School of Broadcasting and a Bachelor of Theology from Covington Theological Seminary. Patrick was the son of a Cumberland Presbyterian minister. As a young man while in training in the armed services Patrick heard his own call from God into the ministry from a mountaintop. Before ordination he served as a supply pastor, filling in on weekends. He was ordained in 2002 as a Cumberland Presbyterian minister. From 2003-2005 he served the Rose Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Monticello, Arkansas. Most recently he has served as interim pastor for First Presbyterian Church (USA) of El Dorado. Patrick worked in radio in operations as an on air personality. His last work in radio was for Noalmark Broadcasting in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was an avid sports fan and worked on the radio team for the Ouachita Tigers. Football, Nascar and baseball were his hobbies. Patrick will be remembered for his compassionate nature and his steadfast love for family, friends and God's work. Patrick leaves behind his wife Angela Bauer of Benton, Arkansas; the mother of his children, Janice Fleming of Attala, Alabama; his son, Bryan Fleming, of Springfield, Mo.; and his daughter, Beth Fleming of McKenzie, Tenn. He is survived by two sisters, Jenny Fleming of Springfield, Mo. and Kellye Fleming of Bolivar, Mo. and one brother, Ron Fleming of New York City, New York. A memorial service honoring Patrick and his parents, Ron and Betty Fleming will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 4216 S. Charleston, Springfield, Mo. 65804. Visitation will precede service from 2 to 3 p.m. in the church. A second memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. Reception following, 300 E Main St., El Dorado, Ark. (870) 863-7144.
