Reverend Oscar David Washington Sr., 77, of Carlisle passed away December 10, 2016; he was born December 31 1938 in Carlisle Arkansas to the late Theodore "Buddy" and Vivian Smith Washington. Rev. Washington was the Pastor of Prairie Chapel Baptist Church in Hazen for 18 Years. Oscar was also a retired business owner and entrepreneur as well as a volunteer with the Carlisle Fire Department and Past Worshipful Master of the Pride of the Prairie Masonic Lodge of Hazen. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vicky Thomas, He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 51 years Alma Smith Washington, four sons Oscar Jr. (Doris) Washington, Cedric (Felicia) Washington, Fredrick Washington and Daric (Kinetra) Washington all of Little Rock one brothers Emanuel Washington of Carlisle two sisters Sara Cleveland of Pittsburgh PA and Shirley (Richard) Lindsey of Little Rock, five grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Thursday December 15, 2016 11 a.m.at the Historic Revelation COGIC Carlisle, Pastor Nelson A. Watson officiating. A visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
