Edith Mabel Perkins Henry, 103, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 20, 2016. She was born February 24, 1913 in Romance, Arkansas. Mother was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock for over 45 years. She was active in the Romance Chapter of Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron. She worked as a secretary for Arkansas Soil and Water Conservation and retired in 1969 to be a homemaker. A woman of strong faith, she taught her family by example, believing that we should treat others the way we would like to be treated. Her true joy came from her family and her home. She often said she was the luckiest person in the world. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables and sharing with her family and friends. She loved all kinds of needlework and spent many hours piecing quilts for her family, making sure she had a special one for each grandchild. Her home was the place the family gathered for holidays and her wonderful "country cooking." She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edwin Reo Henry; mother and stepfather, Emma and Clifton Manning; father and stepmother, William and Bena Perkins; brother, Clifton "Buddy" Manning; sisters, Virginia Taylor and Peggy Harlan; and daughter in law, Paula Henry. She is survived by her son, Ed Henry; daughter, Myra Hyde (Rusty); grandchildren, Kelly Fischer (Steve) and Lee Henry; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Zach and Charlie Fischer; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Ranch Nursing Home for their love and care for the past 3 1/2 years. We would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for their kindness during the past month. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 24th at Faith Baptist Church, 109 Tanglewood Drive in North Little Rock. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116 or Faith Baptist Church. Arrangements by Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home.
