Paula Ann Green

Paula Ann Crook Green passed away quietly on June 17, 2016, with family at her side, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Paula was born in Helena, Arkansas, on April 16, 1935. She grew up in Helena and eventually married Troy W. Green of Little Rock, in 1959, who passed away in 2015. She loved being with her family and always had a special bond with children, so she was close to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She tried to attend all of their school, church, and athletic functions. They will miss her very much. She spent her life in the service of others. She worked as an OB nurse for 30 years, helping to deliver hundreds of babies. She was an ultimate volunteer, working with her church on mission trips around the world. She also worked with her church providing help for the hurricane Katrina victims and in doing so made some life-long friends. She helped with serving meals for those in need in Little Rock. She was one of the young children's Sunday School teachers. In addition to her many church activities, she and her late husband enjoyed traveling. Together they visited dozens of countries worldwide, with her favorite place to visit being Venice, Italy. When she was not traveling or volunteering, she kept herself busy with maintaining beautiful flower gardens around her home, making stained glass windows, decorating her home extensively for holidays, and attending water aerobics classes. She was an avid Arkansas Razorback football fan, planning her whole fall schedule around attending football games. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Green of Little Rock, her parents, Robert Van Crook of Monticello, Ark., and Pauline James Merrifield of Little Rock, and a brother, Robert V. Crook Jr. of Vilonia. She is survived by three children, Paula Green Covey of Maumelle, Troy Green II of Little Rock, and Tracy Green Lipton of Hot Springs, six grandchildren, John Michael Lipton and Hunter Lipton, both of Hot Springs, Chris Covey of Maumelle, Deanna Covey of Little Rock, Joe Covey of Fayetteville, and Matt Covey of Lakeside, Montana, and three great-grandchildren. She also is survived by son-in-law Dr. Carl Covey of Little Rock, and a niece, Gaye Crook Leifer of Vilonia, plus a host of very dear friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Paula on Saturday, June 25, at 11 a.m., at Second Baptist Church, 222 East 8th Street in Little Rock.
