Fred E. McCabe, 79, of Little Rock, Arkansas died Thursday, March 24, 2016. He was born August 9, 1936 in Adona, Arkansas to the late Jesse and Mildred (Bennett) McCabe. He attended College of the Ozarks on an athletic scholarship. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he met his wife of 56 years, Martha Wright McCabe and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and opened McCabe's Furniture. He had a great sense of humor, generous spirit and was loved by many. He had many friends with the Little Rock Police Department and was honored with a lifetime membership as an Honorary Brother of the Little Rock F.O.P. #17. He was a member of Winfield United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Tony McCabe (Donna), children Dale, Erin, and Kyle; daughters, Patti Heffington (Ron), children, Amanda, Ashley and MaryLynn, Keri Stuff (Scott) children, Kaitlin and Will and Suzi Vardeman (Keith); sister, Bobbye Morgan and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. John C. Jones, Judy Johnson, Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn and staff for taking such great care of him. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 28, 2016 at Winfield United Methodist Church, 20100 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223 with David H. Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Adona, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Bob Fowler, Tom Frederick, Ronnie Thompson, Jim Neal, Harold Garvin, Jerry Holt, Paul McCabe, Jody Musgrove, David Morgan and Edward Morgan. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211, (501) 224-8300.
