Lorraine O. Norman Johnson, 61, of Little Rock, died Monday, March 28, 2016. She retired as the English Department Chairperson from Horace Mann Middle School (LRSD) after teaching for 30 years. Lorraine received many honors during her tenure as an educator which included Teacher of the Year, Who's Who Among American Teachers, Basketball Coach, and Yearbook Sponsor. A 1973 Graduate of Eudora High School where she served as Senior Class President, she was a Cum Laude graduate of Philander Smith College (BA in English) and received the Masters in Education from Harding University. She was a faithful member of Christway Missionary Baptist Church where she partnered with her husband as a Youth Sunday School Teacher and worked tirelessly on the Usher and Culinary Ministries. She is survived by a loving and dedicated family which included her husband, Ronnie, son, Kevin, daughter, Kimberly (Dallas, Texas); sisters, Grace Moses and Cheryl Norman of Eudora; brother, Alex Charles (Beverly) Norman of Oakland, Calif., other relatives and friends. Family hour will be Friday, April 1 from 6-8 p.m. with the funeral Saturday, April 2, 2016, 2 p.m. Both services will be held at Christway Missionary Baptist Church (4324 Potter St., Little Rock).
