Nell Knight Jones

Nell Jones, 82, of Pine Bluff died March 29, 2016 after a year-long battle with multiple myeloma. Born Myra Nell Knight in Star City, Arkansas September 18, 1933, daughter of John Clarence and Jennie Mae Holland Knight, Nell was a real "people person", loved her family and friends, never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. For years she and her husband championed and worked for the Jefferson County Literacy Council. Nell married Calvin Jones on January 20, 1953 in Indiana. He died after sixty years of marriage. Also preceding her in death, her parents; brother, Roland Knight; nephew, Gene Knight. A member of First Immanuel Baptist Church, her survivors include daughter, Jennifer Billings (Michael); brother, John Knight (Rose); sister, Shirley Gasaway (Gaylon); grandsons, Jason Wood, Justin Wood (Cody), Jimmy Hurst; great-grandson, Bradley Wood; special niece and namesake, Myra Gayle McMahan; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
