Jimmie "Louise" Purvis Carroll, age 91, of Center Ridge, passed away November 25, 2016 at UAMS in Little Rock, as a result of an automobile accident the day before. She was born August 11, 1925 in Throckmorton, Texas to John M. and Alma O. Gilbert Purvis. She grew up in Kilgore, Texas and graduated from Kilgore High School. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew Bobby Joe Cherry (Linda); and her husband, Bobby Lee Carroll. They were married 46 years at the time of his death on December 25, 1993. They were married in Kilgore, Texas and later moved to the Center Ridge area where she had lived for 35 years. She is survived by her brother, John V. Purvis, of Mayflower, and her two nephews, Morris Dale Cherry (Dean) of Pasadena, Texas, Henry Allen Cherry (Karen) of Louisiana; her dear friends and neighbors, Pete and Jeanette Rossi, Barbara Stanley, along with countless friends around the Center Ridge community and friend Lee Sager of Denison, Texas. Louise loved the Lord, her church (Solgohachia Baptist Church) and reading her bible every day. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family with her delicious meals; growing flowers and a vegetable garden every year. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Harris Chapel with Bro. Eldridge Snow and Bro. Dennis Corder officiating. Burial will be at Kilgore City Cemetery in Kilgore, Texas at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at the funeral home.
